No success tried a bunch of stuff including test a file from a week ago.Did try Advanced Recovery Procedure - https:// Support finally recommended uninstalling and re-installing which I thought was not good.I can send the file to Quicken and assume a software engineer can resolve. I do not understand why this is something they can't figure out.

I would recommend uninstalling Quicken using the 'Qclean UI' here is the link. Have you tried a Super Validate instead of a normal validate? Have you tried creating a brand new Quicken file (not simply a new account, a new file) and testing the Validate function in the new file?You'll be able to ask questions about accountancy, tax and audit or chat with the community and help others.I have Quicken 2018 after updating from 2015 and the validate dies not work. One Step Update would hang after downloading quotes.My solution: (Be sure you backup first)Now I can validate and One Step Update is completing without error.Note: there are very few people reporting issues with the validate feature; i.e. I ran a validate in Q2018 just this past weekend and it ran fine.I am sharing that info to demonstrate there isn't a general, widespread issue with validate in Q2018.
